Introduction to Marketing & PR for Lions Clubs
This interactive session shares practical ideas to help promote your club more effectively. It breaks down the difference between marketing and PR, while highlighting why a clear plan matters, no matter your club’s size or experience. You’ll gain a better understanding of where your club is currently positioned and leave with simple, actionable steps to strengthen your community presence and showcase the impact you make.

Creating Service Projects
This interactive workshop brings connection and creativity together, starting with a fun get-to-know-you activity. From there, the focus shifts to practical impact, as you collaborate with fellow Lions to brainstorm fresh, achievable service project ideas your club can implement right away. It’s a dynamic session designed to spark inspiration, share perspectives and leave you with actionable ideas you can take straight back to your club and community.

Round Table Discussions
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with Lions and Leos from a diverse range of clubs, opening the door to meaningful discussion and shared insight. Together, you’ll explore common challenges, unpack big ideas, and collaborate on solutions relating to the operations and values that shape our clubs. Whether you’re tackling real issues or testing new concepts, this session is designed to harness collective experience and spark practical, forward-thinking outcomes.
Lions Assistance Dogs Sessions

Scent Training Workshop
Live demonstration using saliva samples and controls, audience participation to sit with scents
Participants will have a clear understanding of how Diabetic Alert Dogs are trained, the complexity of their work, and the life-changing difference they make for people living with diabetes through observing, and some audience participation, of real training scenarios.

Puppy Obedience Class
Hands-on obedience session with puppies in the foster program (6+ months)
Roll up your sleeves and take part in a real puppy training session. Participants will practice obedience commands with puppies currently in the foster care program, highlighting the crucial role early learning plays in shaping confident, reliable future Assistance Dogs.

Trainee Dog Obstacle Course
Guided obstacle course with trainee Assistance Dogs and trainers
Put yourself in the handler’s shoes and guide a trainee Assistance Dog through a specifically designed obstacle course. With trainers on hand to support each step, participants will experience how dogs learn confidence, problem-solving, and environmental awareness, all which are essential skills for working in the community.
Participants walk away with a deeper appreciation of the skill, patience and trust required to prepare Assistance Dogs for real-world environments, similar to an Assistance Dogs Public Access Test (or PAT).
Lions Eye Health Program (LEHP) Training Sessions

Hands On Workshop
Saturday, 23 May 2026 (9am – 11am) or Sunday, 24 May 2026 (1pm – 3pm)
This interactive and engaging training session, led by a qualified LEHP Instructor, provides practical training in the use of our screening equipment, along with the key methods and processes involved. You’ll gain the skills and confidence to take part in children’s vision screening sessions in your community.
No prior experience is required, just a willingness to learn and make a difference.

New Equipment Training
Saturday, 23 May 2026 (1pm – 2pm)
This session offers an opportunity to become familiar with our newest piece of vision screening equipment, the Plusoptix S12R vision screening device. You’ll have the chance to handle the device, learn how to use it and how it supports our existing screening processes.
Recommended for qualified Instructors, Facilitators and Screeners, or those who have already completed at least one of the three training steps.

Online Training Course
This online training course provides an introduction to the Children’s Vision Screening Program, covering the importance of early detection of vision issues in children, the screening methods used, and how the process works.
Drop in during Convention to complete the training on the provided computers. Vision Screening Instructors will be on site if you need any assistance.
