Shining a Spotlight on Homelessness and Hunger
The Lions MD 201 National Convention, set to take place in Adelaide in May 2026, will place a strong focus on the urgent issues of homelessness and hunger.
This year, Lions District 201C1, as hosts of the convention, are proud to partner with the Hutt St Centre, a highly respected South Australian organisation that has been providing hope, meals, and support services to people experiencing homelessness for more than 70 years. The Centre is a safe place of compassion and dignity, offering everything from daily meals and showers to case management, pathways to long-term housing and so much more.
The partnership with the Hutt St Centre reflects Lions’ enduring commitment to service, compassion, and community impact. With homelessness and food insecurity on the rise, this focus will spark conversations and actions that extend well beyond the convention itself.
By spotlighting homelessness and hunger at the convention, Lions aim to highlight the growing challenges faced by thousands of Australians. Rising costs of living, housing shortages, and economic pressures have left more people vulnerable to food insecurity and without safe shelter. For Lions, it’s an issue that connects directly to their mission of service and their global cause of relieving hunger.
More details and exciting updates about the program will be announced soon.
