The Lions Australia MD 201 National Convention 2026 will be held across two of Adelaide’s most iconic venues – the Adelaide Showground and Adelaide Oval.
Convention sessions, exhibitions, and activities will take place at the centrally located Adelaide Showground in Wayville, known for its modern facilities and easy access from the city. For the Gala Dinner, we’ll come together in style at the stunning William Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval – a world-class venue offering spectacular views and an unforgettable setting for celebration.

Adelaide Showground
The Heart of the Convention
The Lions MD 201 National Convention 2026 will be held at the award-winning Adelaide Showground, located just minutes from the city centre in the vibrant inner-city suburb of Wayville.
With its state-of-the-art facilities, flexible event spaces, and excellent accessibility, the Adelaide Showground offers the perfect environment for Lions from across Australia and beyond to connect, learn, and celebrate. Whether you’re attending plenary sessions, exploring exhibitions, or catching up with fellow Lions over a cuppa, you’ll find everything you need in one convenient location.
The Goyder Pavilion offers up to 8000 square-metres of column-free space, including the stunning Duncan Gallery. It will be divided into two (2) halls. The first hall will feature the main stage and single-level theatre style seating. The second hall will feature our second stage, exhibition booths and service projects.
Getting to Adelaide Showground
The Showground is just a short tram or train ride from the CBD, with services running frequently throughout the day. There’s also ample parking on-site for those travelling by car. For interstate and international guests, the venue is less than 15 minutes from Adelaide Airport by taxi or rideshare.
Adelaide Oval
An Iconic Setting in the William Magarey Room
The Convention Gala Dinner will be held in one of South Australia’s most prestigious venues – the William Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval.
With sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the historic oval, the River Torrens, and the Adelaide skyline, the William Magarey Room combines elegance, atmosphere, and an unmistakably South Australian sense of place. Located in the Riverbank Stand, this premium function space offers the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration and connection.
Guests will enjoy a memorable evening of fine dining, entertainment, and camaraderie in a space that honours both tradition and innovation – much like Lions itself.
Getting to Adelaide Oval
Adelaide Oval is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of many CBD hotels and easily accessible via public transport. Shuttle services may also be arranged to and from the Adelaide Showground for your convenience.
