Lions Australia

Lions Australia is part of the largest service organisation in the world, Lions Clubs International. Since 1947, Lions Australia has been serving local communities across the country with dedication, compassion, and a hands-on approach to making a difference.

With over 1,100 clubs and 25,000 Lion members (volunteers), our members are everyday people from all walks of life who come together to create stronger communities. Whether it’s providing disaster relief, supporting youth and health initiatives, protecting the environment, or helping those in need, Lions are there to serve – wherever and whenever help is needed.

Our work is driven by the simple yet powerful motto: “We Serve.” And through collaboration, leadership, and kindness, we aim to make a lasting impact – locally, nationally, and globally.

Lions Australia is proud to support and empower clubs and members through training, resources, partnerships, and major national projects such as Lions Eye Health Program, Lions Assistance Dogs, Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation, and more.

Lions Clubs International

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service organisation, with more than 1.4 million members in over 48,000 clubs across 200 countries and geographic areas. Founded in 1917, Lions have been uniting under a common mission for more than a century: to serve.

Lions are known globally for their work in vision, hunger relief, the environment, childhood cancer, diabetes, and disaster relief, as well as their commitment to empowering youth and supporting humanitarian causes.

Through the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), Lions have provided billions of dollars in grant funding to support life-changing projects worldwide. From building hospitals and schools to responding to natural disasters and delivering vital health programs, LCIF helps Lions turn compassion into action.

With a strong focus on leadership, global unity, and grassroots impact, Lions Clubs International continues to be a force for good – bringing together people of all backgrounds who believe in creating a better world through kindness and service.
